The MJM-6350 is the CD Jitter Meter designed for measuring the time jitter in the EFM modulated signal and signal level of CD players, CD-ROM drivers and other devices at Standard/Dual/Quadruple speed.
For jitter measurement, it extracts the 3T component of the EFM signal to measure the jitter in real time and display on the meter. For level measurement, it selects the bits of 3T or 11T to measure the signal level and display on the meter. It also indicates GO or NO-GO for jitter and level measurement with lamps according to preset GO/NO-GO threshold values and displays the results on the meter. In addition, this instrument is installed in an automatic measuring system and controlled with a GP-IB interface.
FEATURES
Standard, Dual and Quadruple speed measurements are selectable for jitter and level.
The 3T jitter of the EFM signal of disk drivers can be read directly from the meter.
The jitter value is indicated in standard deviation (SIGMA mode).
Changes in the jitter can be read continuously, due to the T/V conversion method of measurement.
The polarity of the 3T measurement can be selected (positive-going or negative-going)
Improvements in the compensation circuit for the period have resulted in highly stable operation when the signal is in the asymmetrical condition.
For level measurement, it selects bits of 3T or 11T of EFM signal.
The level value is indicated in Peak-to-Peak form.
A GO/NO-GO result is indicated in relation to a preset threshold value for jitter and level measurement.
The GP-IB (option) is built-in for automatic control.
