Ligada iSuite is a comprehensive HbbTV Test Harness and Test Suite, enabling interoperability and conformance testing for HbbTV hybrid digital TV receivers. It consists of the Ligada Test Harness, a test harness for managing and delivering HbbTV test applications including the official HbbTV test suite; and the Ligada Test Suite, a complete suite of HbbTV test cases. Ligada enables CE manufacturers and operators to validate HbbTV conformance and has been specifically designed to test the areas where interoperability problems have so far been the greatest for HbbTV.
The Ligada iSuite Test Harness automates 95% of the Official HbbTV test cases, dramatically reducing test times and
allowing unattended test runs. The Ligada Test Suite also provides coverage for the imminent HbbTV 1.5 specification,
including MPEG-DASH adaptive streaming. Ligada iSuite supports new platform specific HbbTV profiles as they are introduced, beginning with the French TNT2.0 profile.

The Ligada Test Suite consists of Digital TV Labs authored test cases, which provide excellent test coverage of the HbbTV specification. Our ‘Added Value’ test cases are supplementary to the official HbbTV Test Suite, and are designed to cover specific problem areas of interoperability, including robustness, network resilience and advanced AV functionality. For users without access to the official HbbTV Test Suite, we also supply the official Digital TV Labs authored test cases, which form about 50% of the Official Test Cases. The French TNT2.0 Test Suite is provided as an option.
In addition to this, Ligada users will receive the latest upgrades to the test cases authored by Digital TV Labs, well in advance of their official release by HbbTV. All of our test cases are supplied as source code and may be adapted by Ligada users

The Ligada Test Harness is an efficient HbbTV Test Harness which fully supports the recently released official HbbTV

Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) is an industry standard for hybrid digital TV which harmonises the delivery
of entertainment through broadcast and broadband. Digital TV Labs is part of the HbbTV Consortium, is the highest single contributor to the official HbbTV Test Suite and chairs the HbbTV Testing Group. Digital TV Labs is working with a number of new HbbTV platform operators, such as TNT 2.0 in France, to provide Ligada-based test suites and test services.
HbbTV Conformance Testing
For customers that don’t require the capability to perform inhouse execution of HbbTV testing, we are able to offer a
complete and comprehensive testing service. Our experienced Test Engineers will execute the Ligada Test Suite on the
receiver under test and provide a detailed report of the test results. This service enables manufacturers to conform to the requirements of the HbbTV Logo Licensing Policy.
To help customers diagnose and fix resulting receiver issues we offer hosting services that allow customer engineers to come to our labs, reproduce the failure cases and be supported by our Test Engineers, who can explain the precise
nature of the failure and its relation to the HbbTV specification. In 2012 Digital TV Labs became the first HbbTV
Registered Test Center.

Digital TV Labs maintains a library of current HbbTV applications, which are thoroughly exercised to confirm
correct receiver operation against a reference receiver. Our UK lab is fully equipped with a pan-EU satellite feed, enabling access to live HbbTV applications. We also tour Europe periodically and make regular recordings of terrestrial HbbTV broadcasts.
Since no conformance regime is yet in place, some applications make assumptions about receiver behaviour that
does not comply with the HbbTV specification. We are experts on HbbTV and can provide in-depth advice regarding receiver behaviour. We provide ‘real world’ testing services, which is critical to ensure receivers perform correctly in the field and provide a positive user experience.
