The MSG-2191 is a signal generator designed for generating simulation signal of VICS’ Infrared Beacon and Radio-wave Beacon; it is used for testing Infrared/Radio-wave Beacon receivers. This unit is operated from a PC through USB interface by using the attached application software. Also, users can input their Infrared Beacon data and Radio-wave Beacon data to this unit from PC. A special designed antenna for transmitting/recovering beacon is attached as standard. Note: The application software is not capable of creating and editing data.
* In VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System), Infrared Beacon (at Main trunk roads) and Radio-wave Beacon (at Expressways) are used for providing traffic congestion information to vehicles and collecting traveling time from vehicles.
FEATURES
This unit has six Records for each Infrared data and Radio-wave data. Data from PC can be input into Record No. 1 to No. 5. (No. 0 is a fixed data for confirmation.)
In case of the Radio-wave Beacon, the level can be set to be changed automatically to obtain such an image as a vehicle approaches to the Beacon and then, goes away.
In case of the Infrared Beacon, down link and up link (two-way communication) tests can be performed.
When turn power switch off, setting of this unit is saved by battery backup function.
When turn power switch on, self-test function detects abnormity of this unit.
